Call for Paper Proposals
Annual Meeting of the
Association of Ministry Guidance Professionals

The Association of Ministry Guidance Professionals (AMGP) will hold its next annual meeting May 20-22, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
Note: This year’s conference is a collaboration between the Association of Ministry Guidance Professionals, the Baptist History and Heritage Society, and the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion. Each organization is issuing a separate call for papers. Individuals may submit different paper proposals to multiple organizations, but may not submit the same paper or panel proposal to multiple organizations. For individuals submitting multiple papers through multiple organizations, please indicate so when submitting.
AMGP is accepting paper proposals of 500 words or less for the meeting. Proposals may be on any topic related to, Ministry Guidance, Mentoring, Field Education, Call Clarification, and Ministry Studies.
Paper or panel proposals on any aspect of pedagogy related to experiential learning, service learning, practical theology, or implications of AI (ZimmWriter, Jarvis, Chat GPT) are also encouraged.
AMGP members and non-members alike may submit proposals, but those selected to present papers at the conference are expected to join as members of the Association.
Proposals for themed sessions are also welcomed. A themed session should consist of two to three paper presentations on a unified theme and a suggested moderator. Proposals for creative sessions that are not traditional paper presentations are also encouraged. All papers will be scheduled within a 30-minute time period, including discussion.
Proposals for individual papers, themed paper sessions, panel discussions, and creative sessions will be accepted until February 15, 2024. All proposals will be accepted or denied by March 1, 2024.
